I am absolutely honored to be able to spotlight this next artist. It so happens this rad dude has been a big part of my journey throughout the music industry. It’s been about 8-9 years since I initially met him when he was part of the Almost King’s crew back in 2008. I was still fresh in the industry and learning the ropes. So, without further adieu, I am thrilled to be able to introduce you to my good friend Paul-Devon Lewow or more affectionately known as Defraites.

Based out of one of the biggest music cities in the United States, Defraites calls Atlanta home. Completely independent and self-produced, he definitely brings an eclectic sound to the table. I must say, I have a huge soft side of electronic music that can merge multiple genres into one and truly make it work. Not to mention when you add some dynamic vocals into the mix, it sure knows how to make this girl’s knees weak.

I had a chance to preview some of the early versions of his current tracks during the summer of 2016, and I have to say… the more he releases the more I fall in love with the unique sound that he has. His music has been queued up on my SoundCloud playlist for what seems like forever now.

My all-time favorite song is definitely ‘Darkside’. The first time I heard it, I kid you not, before the song was even over I was singing along with the lyrics. It is such an up-tempo track that really energizes the listener and shows off the “rock” side of Defraites.

I wouldn’t put the Defraites sound into a single genre or sub-genre. The ability to weave in and out of multiple genres almost simultaneously is a unique trait that you do not find with many artists. So while you are at it, check out some of the SoundCloud tracks below and share if you would!
